Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Heat System FAQs

Yes, upgrading from an older conventional draft vented furnace saves considerably! Some older furnaces only maximized 55% or less of your fuels potential, the rest goes up the chimney in waste! A new 95% or 96% A.F.U.E. will provide more “usable” heat and deliver it into your home.

Compared to older conventional draft vented furnaces which have the potential of producing carbon monoxide, newer “direct vent” furnaces are much safer to operate.

All furnace manufacturers require that their products be maintained annually. Due to the design of newer high efficiency furnaces that use the “condensing principle” in achieving maximum heat recovery, maintenance is a key factor in keeping your furnace in “tip-top” condition.

Cooling System FAQs

Yes, upgrading from an older A/C system will save you money! Older compressors used more electric power to operate and that makes them more expensive.
Current Air Conditioners UTILIZE much more efficient compressors that operate with less power consumption.

In reality, an oversized A/C system will be just as bad as an undersized one! In the case of an oversized system the likelihood of the indoor evaporator coil freezing is high
This is due to the increased volume of refrigerant passing through the evaporator and insufficient air flow over the coil resulting in the moisture in the air freezing onto the coil and becoming a solid lock of ice!
Have it sized correctly by our experts!

Your furnace and air conditioning systems depend on a prescribed amount of “air flow” to operate efficiently.
Changing your filter on regular intervals will keep your equipment in good working order and prevent needless service calls.
Some filter cabinets allow for a much “thicker filter” which will increase the duration of its performance.
Always check with our technicians for any advice on filtration to ensure you are using the right product and leaving it in place for the specific duration.

NEVER RUN YOUR FURNACE WITHOUT A FILTER IN PLACE.
